Parenthood can be much more challenging and more emotionally difficult anyone expects. The saying “it takes a village” has never been truer, however in our society, most parents do not have emotional or social support that they deserve. Many parents experience unexpected feelings, ranging from increase in anxiety, depression, isolation and frustration, to decrease in couples and marital satisfaction due to the stresses of parenthood.
Parenting support and guidance can be a beneficial way to help provide you with the support that you deserve. Together, we will create ways to alleviate stress as quickly as possible, and help you experience the joys of parenting. We will proactively set goals to help you and your family make necessary behavioral changes, gain insight, understanding, and improve communication skills, which are necessary for deeper connections, conflict resolution, and loving relationships that you and your family deserve.
CHILDREN, ADOLESCENTS & TEENS
Often, children, adolescents and teens show their feelings through their actions. They may be isolating more, having trouble in school or with friends or “acting out” — this is their way of saying, “I need help.”
I provide an integrative blend of verbal and non-verbal interventions with safe and open space to help your child express and learn about themselves and their behaviors - and make sense of the big and difficult feelings they may be experiencing. Together, we work on better communication, coping skills, emotional regulation, thinking patterns and relationships.
If your child, adolescent or teen is experiencing changes in their behavior or mood, seeking help sooner than later can save you time and energy — the earlier you intervene, the easier it is to solve problems, and seeking a consultation with a psychotherapist can help and provide them, and you, with the support that they deserve.
